The School on Wheels Railcar Museum, as a non-profit organization, depends on volunteers each year to help run special events, assist with ongoing repairs and maintenance, take care of the gardens around the School Car, and help the museum staff with ongoing museum projects. The Board of Directors is also made up of volunteers who have a special interest in preserving and promoting the School Car.
